Abortion Service

Appointments for our virtual abortion clinic are done via video. You can use a smartphone or computer to attend your appointment. When you make your appointment, you will receive a booking confirmation by text/email which will contain a unique video link. You do not need to install/download any programs for your visit with the doctor.

 

Virtual clinic occurs every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. At the first visit, we will date the pregnancy. Our clinic provides services for those with pregnancies up to and including 10 weeks and 0 days.

If you elect to have a medication abortion, a package will be sent from our partner pharmacy to you via courier. In most cases, the medication will be delivered the next business day. Someone must be at the address you provide to receive the package. If you are in Hamilton, we can alternatively send the script to the pharmacy located within the clinic.  If you are located outside of Hamilton and want to start your abortion the same day as your doctor's appointment, please call ahead to the pharmacy you intend to use to make sure they have mifegymiso (DIN 02444038) in stock. If you have OHIP, the cost of the medication will be covered by OHIP.

Patients should go to a local lab (or our clinic) for a blood test to check the pregnancy hormone level the same day as they start taking their pills. Repeat blood work is done 7 days after the first pills are taken.

We will book a follow-up visit typically 2 weeks after your first visit to let you know if the abortion is successful. We can start you on birth control (pill, patch or ring) or make a referral for you to have a Nexplanon/IUD inserted near you.
